A new development of INGC: AA-2000 gas turbine engine is a radial gas turbine engine made using a simple cycle scheme with a low-emission combustion chamber; it has a high degree of reliability and capability (compared to the conventional axial gas turbine engine); and it has significantly smaller dimensions and weight than a gas turbine engine of similar power.
AA-2000 gas turbine engine is designed to operate as a drive of the turbine generator set in “Irtysh” GTEA-2000 power plants at the facilities of oil and gas and producer companies and in combination with a heat recovery unit it can be used for heat supply. Besides, it can be used as a drive for the centrifugal compressor as part of a mobile gas pumping units and as a drive of the pump for oil pumping where there is natural gas or associated petroleum gas. It is possible to use oil as fuel for AA-2000 gas turbine engine.
The pilot lot of three AA-2000 gas turbine engines has been manufactured:
· AA-2000 GTE No. 0001 was used for maturing the manufacturing technologies of GTE main components and elements; the assemblability was checked and the combustion chamber was tested to calibrate the ignition system parameters; the rotor cold blowdown was carried out; and the engine was cut (to let the specialists examine the design of components and engine of AA-2000 GTE). The drive has been presented at the exposition of INGC LLC at SPIGF-2024;
· AA-2000 GTE No. 0002 has been prepared for bench factory tests at the plant of INGC LLC in Perm. For this purpose, a test bench (GTEA-0204) has been developed and manufactured for factory testing: a power unit, “Sirius” control system and gas treatment unit have been manufactured; a load resistor has been purchased and installed at the factory site to test all operating modes of the gas turbine engine in accordance with the developed test program. The test bench layout is of modular design for testing and subsequent implementation of solutions in “Irtysh” GTEA-2000 commercial power plants. For GTE testing, a step change in active and inductive resistance is provided which allows for conducting tests at full and partial loads as well as for cutting and rising the load to assess dynamic characteristics of the engine. Additional systems have been manufactured for control and calibration of the operating modes of the gas turbine engine and test bench as a unit as a whole as well as for the subsequent equipment modernization.
Currently, the installation of modules and components of the test bench on the test site is being completed and the work is performed in accordance with the schedule. Tie-in and gas connection to the test bench have been scheduled for the end of December and factory tests have been scheduled for January-February, 2025.
· AA-2000 GTE No. 0003 is being prepared for testing as part of a commercial prototype of “Irtysh” GTEA-2000 power plant with gaseous fuel (GOST 5542-87 or associated petroleum gas, subject to agreement).
For the purpose of further development of the product, design and development work has been started to adapt it to operation using the associated petroleum gas with up to 5% hydrogen sulfide content.
Production of AA-2000 gas turbine engine has been completely localized in the Russian Federation
